The City of Belleville is working on developing a five-year Parks and Recreation Plan concurrently with the Master Plan.

In order to qualify for funding for parks and recreation, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) requires communities to provide a five-year Parks and Recreation Plan that details a strategic and actionable plan for maintaining and improving local parks and recreation resources. The planning process provides the City an opportunity to review and assess existing facilities in light of current and future needs, create an action plan for any changes or improvements to those facilities within the next five years, and explore partnerships with the County and neighboring communities. The most recently approved Parks and Recreation Plan for the City was approved in 2009.

On November 3, 2025, the City held an open house as part of the planning process to collect input that will help inform what goes in the plan. The activities are sorted by the stations at the open house (City Parks and Plan Goals and Objectives, Connectivity, Funding Priorities, and Getting to Know You) - you may click on each tab to access the different activities.

Below, you may go through the posters that were available at the open house and submit your own responses to the same or similar questions that were asked at the event.
